Does anyone know the name of the little fried strips that you pour egg drop soup over in a chinese restaurant?

March 9th, 2010 by admin | Filed in Top Secret Restaurant Recipes

I am trying to find a recipe for good egg drop soup and the little fried noodles that you can pour the soup over. Does anyone know what the little noodles are called or how to make them or the soup at home?

They use two different kinds. If they are flat and thick they are wonton wrappers sliced thin and deep fried if they look like noodles, they are chow mein noodles deep fried. You can make them, just find either wonton wrappers or chow mein noodles.

I think they are just called crunchy noodles. They are very cheap to buy, I’d probably just buy them if I were you. They are in a special aisle in the grocery store where they sell the asian cuisine. Check allrecipes.com for a good recipe. That website is awesome!

They are just fried egg wraps. Just look for won ton wrappers in your grocery store, they are usually found in the veg section. Cut them into strips and fry them for about a minute.
