I’m interested in any recommendations on a good asian/oriental salad dressing (either store bought or easy to make).

I dislike nearly all normal salad dressings found in stores, so I rarely eat salad. I should eat it more, so I want to find something that I like.

The only salad dressing I have really liked so far was from Liu Peking restaurant near my college. The dressing they use is really light brown in color, and really light/thin (not thick salad dressing at all – almost like soy sauce). I don’t like thick dressings. It tastes very good and I could certainly eat salad every day with a little bit of that dressing. However, I cannot find any recipes online for it and wouldn’t know where to begin on making it myself. Kinda sweet but that’s all I can tell.

Thanks!

PS: I just tried Asian Sesame salad dressing (new! at Publix) to see if it was any good. I didn’t like it very much – weird taste and weird aftertaste. Also too thick.

I found arborio rice in a local super market today, I have been looking every were for it. (for those of you who don’t know it’s rice you make risotto out of) i’m going to make some homemade chicken stock tomorrow and then i will sate some shallots in a little bit of butter then toast my rice, until it turns translucent around the edges, add a half a cup of white wine (pinot grigio) and then very lovingly add a little bit of chicken stock at a time to achieve the wonder full creamy texture risotto is famous for then at the very end i will add the juice, and zest of half a lemon, and some fresh parmesan cheese (YUMMY) i have never made risotto before, i have read about it and it sounds dreamy so if you have had risotto either homemade or from a restaurant can you tell me how it was, and tell me what you think about my recipe Thanks
